Mary Simpson

Mary Specializes in seascapes, landscapes, animals and florals. Her Style is realistic and

decidedly contemporary. Mary's range is wide and varied. Her subjects involve the

viewer's senses, whether it's the tension of a dramatic ship battle or the comfort of a

serene day fishing at the lake. Even her florals exude a sense of freshness and appeal

to those desiring a permanent bouquet for the dining room or other special place.

Her paintings have earned her many ribbons in numerous competitions and those ribbons

usually find a home with the buyer of the painting.

Since Mary began teaching 25 years ago in Long Beach, Ca., she has developed quite a following

throughout Southern California. Her students are always amazed at what she can get out of them

for their first and subsequent paintings. Her method includes drying time between manageable

segments, thereby supporting major progress and preventing catastrophe by a novice. She also

teaches advanced classes including design and composition.

She successfully operated the Moonridge Art Gallery at Big Bear Lake, Ca., a renowned artist

community, for five years. Her work has been displayed and sold through many galleries, including

the Anenberg Art Galleries of Palm Springs, B/C Studio of Long Beach, Brush and Palette of Bellflower

and Sylvia Winslow Gallery of Ridgecrest.

Currently Mary resides in Ridgcrest, Ca., where she teaches a weekly painting class.
